LEGAL / DATA AND ACCOUNT PRIVACY
Privacy Policy
Effective September 29, 2026 · Covers Odyssey VTC website, Drivers Hub, and connected features.
This policy describes the information Odyssey handles, why it is used, and the choices available to you. It covers both Odyssey driver accounts and restricted external VTC representative accounts.
Who operates this service
Odyssey VTC operates this community website and Drivers Hub. For privacy questions, account access, correction, or deletion requests, contact the Odyssey team through the official Discord community linked below. The service is community-run; no separate registered legal entity or postal address is identified on this site.
Information we collect
Account and profile data: username, display name, email, password hash, avatar, locale, timezone, preferences, and account security state. Connected account data: Steam ID and public persona/avatar/profile URL; Discord user ID, username/avatar and verified email when you authorize the relevant scopes. We store connection status and identifiers so you can sign in and manage linked services. Security data: session identifiers, MFA enrollment and recovery material in protected form, rate-limit and abuse-prevention signals, and authentication/audit timestamps. Community activity: event participation, invitations and slot requests, account notifications, profile badges, roles and awards. Odyssey driver data can include job fields received from the selected tracker (TruckersHub or Trucky), such as driver, source and destination, cargo and damage, distance, game/server, start/completion time and derived points. The configured tracker is the source for job data; the two trackers are not merged. External VTC representative accounts use TruckersMP identity, VTC membership/role, VTC public profile and public upcoming-event data; they do not connect TruckersHub or Trucky and cannot view Odyssey driver jobs or stats.
Information from other services
When you connect or use an integration, we receive the information authorized by that service or exposed by its public API. Steam OpenID verifies account control; Steam profile APIs may provide persona name, avatar and profile URL. Discord OAuth provides the identity and, where requested, verified email and account-install authorization. TruckersMP API data can provide player ID/name, current VTC/member IDs, public VTC profile, public member roles and event details. A VTC representative’s selected VTC must match their TruckersMP profile; public VTC role names are used to assess representative eligibility. TruckersHub or Trucky data is accessed only for Odyssey driver onboarding/recording when that tracker is connected and selected.
How we use information
We use information to create and secure accounts; authenticate and recover access; verify Odyssey drivers and external VTC representatives; provide profiles, events, invitations, slot requests, leaderboards, jobs and activity features to the appropriate account type; send service notices and, only after opt-in, Discord direct messages; prevent fraud and abuse; maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the service; and meet applicable legal obligations. External representatives see their own VTC profile and upcoming events, plus the available invitation and event-slot request options. They are not granted access to Odyssey driver or staff areas.
How information is shared
We do not sell personal information. Data is shared with service providers needed to operate the Hub (for example, database hosting, email delivery, and application hosting), and with external platforms when you choose to authenticate, connect a tracker, or request a Discord notification. The site calls TruckersMP public APIs to verify membership and show public VTC/event information. Job webhooks are sent only to an HTTPS endpoint configured by authorized Odyssey staff; the configured recipient receives new job payload fields described by the Hub’s webhook implementation. We may disclose information to protect users, investigate abuse, enforce the terms, or comply with lawful requests. Public VTC and event pages may display information supplied by TruckersMP or by the VTC/event organizer.
Discord notifications
Discord User Install authorization and bot direct-message opt-in are separate. Authorizing the Discord application does not enable messages. You must run /activate with the Odyssey bot to opt in. Opt-in status and its timestamp are stored so the bot can determine whether messages are allowed. You can opt out at any time; Discord privacy settings may still prevent delivery.
Cookies, sessions and security
We use essential cookies for sign-in, session security, OAuth anti-forgery checks, onboarding, and account verification. We do not use these authentication cookies for advertising. Passwords are stored as hashes, not as readable passwords. MFA secrets and recovery credentials are handled as protected security data. No internet transmission or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure; report suspected account misuse through Odyssey Discord.
Retention
We keep account and activity information while an account is active and for as long as needed to provide the service. OAuth tokens used only to complete an authentication are not retained unless a feature explicitly requires a stored connection token. Backups, security records, legal records, and limited deletion-prevention records may remain for a reasonable period after an account closes, then are removed or de-identified under operational retention practices. Provider API caches expire according to the feature’s cache policy.
Your choices and requests
You may review and update profile details in account settings, unlink supported connections, change notification preferences, and request access, correction, or deletion by contacting Odyssey. Some identity fields must remain to prevent duplicate or fraudulent account creation, satisfy event records, or protect service security. We will explain any applicable limitation when responding. If you are in a location with additional privacy rights, you may exercise those rights through the same contact route.
Children and third-party services
The service is intended for people who can lawfully use the connected game and community services. Do not create an account if you are below the minimum age required by applicable law or by a connected platform. Steam, Discord, TruckersMP, TruckersHub and Trucky operate under their own privacy notices and terms; this policy does not cover their independent processing.
Policy updates
We will update this page when our practices or service features materially change. The latest effective date appears at the top of this page. If a change affects a specific account choice, we will provide an in-product notice where practical.
